U.S. judge blocks latest Trump travel ban order

Unites States, Oct 18 (ANI): A federal judge blocked President Donald Trump's third attempt to impose travel restrictions on individuals entering the United States. The open-ended ban that was announced last month, targeted people from Libya, Somalia, Chad, Iran, Syria, Yemen, and North Korea and certain government officials from Venezuela. U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson said in his ruling, on Tuesday, that the policy "suffers from precisely the same maladies as its predecessor: it lacks sufficient findings that the entry of more than 150 million nationals from six specified countries would be 'detrimental to the interests of the United States." The White House immediately hit back in a statement calling the court order dangerously flawed. It also mentioned that it undercuts the President's efforts to keep the American citizens safe. The ban was a latest version of a policy, which was first introduced by executive order in January and originally targeted seven Muslim-majority countries. The policy spurred nationwide protests and was repeatedly rejected by courts across America. During presidential election campaign, Trump had promised "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."
