Two NDFB militants gunned down in Assam

Chirang, Aug 29 (ANI): Indian security forces on Saturday claimed to have killed two hardcore rebels of a militant organisation in an encounter in Assam. The encounter took place at Auxiguri Auguri area in Chirang district. Security officials said a joint team of the army, Assam Police, a battalion of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) raided the area. During the exchange of fire two hardcore rebels of the militant organisation, National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), were killed. One of the militants, identified as Gumsang Basumatary was platoon commander of Chirang district. An M-16 rifle and one AK-56 rifle were recovered from the slain militants.
