Tumakuru ASI faces arrest, suspension on charges of rape
Tumkur (Karnataka), Jan 16 (ANI): A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a moving vehicle by an assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) in Tumkauru city on Saturday night. Superintendent of Police (SP) Isha Pant said that based on a complaint by the victim's mother; the police on Sunday arrested the ASI Umesh by the nearby Tumakuru Rural police station for questioning. She also said that the girl has been sent for the medical examination and the ASI has been suspended. She added that the investigation is still on.
