Tomato Rasam Ingredients Masoor Dal - 1/3 cup Chopped Ginger Green chili - 1 no. chopped Tomatoes - 2 nos chopped Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Salt to taste Pepper powder - 1 tsp Water - 2 cups Garnish it with Coriander leaves For Tempering Ghee - 2 tsp Urad Dal - 1 tsp Chana Dal - 1 tsp Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp Red chili - 2 nos Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp Few Curry leaves Method: 1. Pressure cook the Masoor Dal with water & keep aside. 2. Heat ghee in a pot. Add tempering ingredients Urad dal, Chana dal, Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Red chili, Asafoetida powder & Curry leaves. Saute it. 3. Once the Mustard seeds starts splattering add Ginger, Green chili, Tomatoes, Turmeric powder, Salt & Pepper powder. Saute/cook till tomatoes are mashed. 4. Now, add Water, Cooked Masoor Dal & Check for seasoning. 5. Close pot & cook for 10 minutes. 6. Finally, Garnish it with Coriander leaves. Serve hot with steaming rice. Enjoy!
