Telangana to be No. 1 in Army welfare measures: K Chandrashekar Rao

Hyderabad, Jan 18 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday announced a number of measures for the welfare of the Army personnel and their families. The Chief Minister, who was addressing in the assembly, pinned hoped that Telangana will become the number one state across the country by making and implementing army welfare activities. CM Rao further said that his Government is drafting a comprehensive plan under the initiative. Among other various measures taken up are- establishment of an army school, allotment of Rs. 80 crores for the army welfare fund, strengthening of sainik welfare boards both at the state and district levels. Few of the other initiatives are reservation to the children of army personnel in government-run residential schools, exemption of the force personnel from paying house taxes on their immobile properties and setting up of an advisory council for the welfare of the soldiers.
