Students build toilets for poor in Vadodara

Vadodara, Mar 4 (ANI): School children in Vadodara are helping set up toilets for the poor in a sanitation drive in the slum area of the city. The students said they were inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for cleanliness during his Independence Day speech. Most of the students of Navrachna International School are NRIs and belong to affluent families who do social service under various community programmes organized by the school. The schoolchildren, mostly of secondary section, surveyed the area themselves and inferred the number of toilets required in the area to stop open defecation. The school authorities will bear the cost of building the remaining 17 toilets. A dozen of students were seen working in the slum area, wielding shovel and other building instruments.
