Seychelles releases 19 detained Indian fishermen
Thiruvananthapuram, March 05 (ANI): Seychelles released nineteen Indian fishermen who spent more than a month in their custody. The fishermen belonged to southern states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Out of the 19, eight belong to Poovar village of Kerala while others are from Kanyakumari town of Tamil Nadu. The fishermen arriving at Kochi International airport were taken to Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram in a special bus by the district administration. Barring two captains, the Seychelles Island Coast Guard (SICG) released 19 fishermen hailing from the two southern states. Two captains of the boat that set off from Kochi on January 15 are still in custody in Seychelles and efforts are on to get their release.
