Self employment institutes to help youth: Jairam Ramesh
New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh today said that the objective behind setting up Rural Self Employment Training Institute in 526 districts is to train the youth so that they can become self reliant and are able to earn their livelihood. Speaking to the reporters in New Delhi Ramesh said that they would try to implement the programme in the 620 districts of the country. Ramesh added that it is a self employment programme as opposed to the wage employment scheme of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA). He also said that that they are looking forward to integrate women self help groups into the programme.
