Rendered homeless, landslide victims in Kashmir await help
Udhampur (J and K), Apr 19 (ANI): Residents in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district are waiting for help even after a week when a landslide was triggered by heavy rain which flattened houses and damaged properties. Stones, mud and trees from an adjacent hill came down on houses on the night of April 11 as the rain caused a drain to overflow. An affected resident said many houses had developed cracks and its dangerous to even enter in those houses. Residents alleged that their requests to authorities in the past to divert the flow of the drain went unheeded.
