Racism, intolerance not specific to India, says Sonam Kapoor

New Delhi, Feb 9 (ANI): Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, in response to the attack on the Tanzanian student in Bengaluru on February 3, said that racism and intolerance are not specific to India but happens across the globe.The Tanzanian student was allegedly beaten up and stripped by a mob in a case of mistaken identity after a woman was mowed down by a car in Bengaluru.The 21-year-old Tanzanian was dragged out of the car in which she was seated along with her three friends.Sonam, who has not shied of speaking about current affair incidents in the past, did not hide behind a non-committal stance. Sonam, who is the Loreal brand ambassador, was present at the inauguration of Women of Worth Awards, a platform and campaign that will recognize and felicitate the achievements of women who have achieved success in making a difference to the lives of others through their bravery, convictions and drive.The Women of Worth 2016 awards and campaign, which is an initiative by NDTV and Loreal Paris, will showcase women’s inspirational and impactful work to the world at large.
