Pune blasts: Probe begins, Cities on high alert
Pune/ Mumbai/New Delhi/ Moradabad/ Noida, Aug 02 (ANI): Locals in Pune woke up today under a shadow of terror, as teams of security and forensic experts, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Anti Terrorism Squad combed the streets for clues to the last night blasts. Four small explosions occurred in quick succession in a busy shopping area of Pune yesterday evening injuring two people. According to police officials, one explosion was caused by a device hidden in a dustbin at a branch of McDonald s while another went off near a popular theatre.Meanwhile, major cities like New Delhi and Mumbai were turned into fortresses with the police patrolling being intensified and security personnel being deployed in several areas of the metros. Security was also stepped up at Jantar Mantar area in New Delhi, where anti graft crusader Anna Hazare along with his close aides is sitting on hunger strike for past eight days.
