Pratibha Devisingh Patil addresses nation
New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil addressed the nation today on the eve of demitting her office. Patil, who hails from Nadgaon village of Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, is the first woman to occupy the top office having assumed charge as the 12th President on July 25, 2007. She highlighted the curse of corruption saying it is the enemy of development and asked government and people to collectively fight it. She also appreciated the important role of armed forces in guarding the borders and the security forces in maintaining law and order.
