Paramilitary force organises weapon exhibition in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, Nov 28 (ANI): The paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) organised a weapon exhibition in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore city as part of its ongoing golden jubilee year celebrations. The 118 battalion of BSF organised the exhibition and a band show to familiarise the public, especially young students, about the force's weaponry. On display were special weaponry, including light machine gun (LMG), medium machine gun (MMG), 81 mortar, 51 mortar and Carl Gustav recoilless rifle (CGRL). Speaking to mediapersons at the event, Assistant Commandant, 118 battalion of BSF, Sunil Bhatt, said the force was capable of facing any eventuality by the enemy. The BSF is India's border guarding force, established on December 1, 1965. It is charged with guarding India's land border during peace time and preventing transnational crime.
