PM Modi pays tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary
New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Addressing the nation through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to Jan Sangh ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. He also said that country should celebrate his birth anniversary as the year for the welfare of the poor. Upadhyaya, a politician, philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian and journalist was born on September 25, 1916 in Uttar Pradesh. He served the Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1967 until his death in 1968.
