PM Modi debuts on Chinese social media platform, Weibo

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): In a move to enhance communication with people of China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a debut on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo. Weibo is China's version of Twitter. This is first of a kind attempt by any leader across India. Announcing the news on Twitter, PM Modi said, "Hello China! Looking forward to interacting with Chinese friends through Weibo." Expert on Chinese Affairs, Srikanth Kondapalli said that the same is a major development wherein PM Modi will have access to roughly 55 crore people of China along with the government. The prime minister, known for his activeness on social media platforms has made use of facebook, twitter and other platforms in order to connect with people of India and also with leaders of foreign countries. This is in sync with the PM's vision of a digital India, where technology plays a pivotal role in Governance and policy making.
