Over 150 Indians stranded in earthquake-hit Nepal flown back home
New Delhi/ Ghaziabad, April 26 (ANI): Nearly 158 Indian nationals, evacuated from earthquake-hit Nepal, arrived in New Delhi in two Indian Air Force planes. IAF's C-130 J Hercules aircraft flew in first batch of 55 Indians at Delhi's Palam airport late on Saturday night, followed by C-17 Globemaster III aircraft carrying 103 stranded nationals, who arrived in the capital in the wee hours of Sunday. A powerful earthquake struck Nepal and sent tremors through northern India on Saturday, killing more than 1,300 people, touching off a deadly avalanche on Mount Everest and toppling a 19th-century tower in the capital Kathmandu. The evacuees also included BJP leader MJ Akbar. Meanwhile, the third Indian Air Force plane carrying relief material took off from Hindon air base in northern Ghaziabad late on Saturday. Defence minister, Manohar Parrikar, said India will lend all support to Nepal to cope with the disaster.
