Muslims, Sikhs help organise pandit wedding

Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir , Oct 25 (ANI): A heart-warming sight of communal harmony was witnessed in Pulwama of South Kashmir region recently. Muslims and Sikhs living in the district made arrangements for the marriage of a Kashmiri Pandit girl belonging to the same area. Most of the relatives of the girl have migrated from the valley which is why the Muslim and Sikh neighbours decided to participate in the celebrations of giving away the girl who they consider to be like their own daughter. Traditionally, Muslims, Pandits and Sikhs have always celebrated such functions together in Jammu and Kashmir. They treat each other as a part of one big family who celebrate, laugh and cry together. Besides making most of the arrangements for the marriage, the Muslims and Sikh communities also participated in the traditional music ceremony on the eve of the wedding day. Such gestures further strengthen the strong fabric of love and harmony existing among all communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
