Miss Himalaya Pageant 2015 held in Dharamsala
Dharamsala, Oct 06 (ANI): In a bid to promote culture and tourism in the Himalayan region, a beauty pageant titled 'Miss Himalaya' was organised in hill town of Dharamsala. Six participants from the Himalayan region including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh took part in the contest held on Sunday. Twenty-three-year-old Tanshuman Gurung from Uttarakhand was adjudged the winner after several rounds of competition. Tenzin Sangnyin, an exiled Tibetan living in Himachal Pradesh, was declared the first runner up, while Chum Darang from Arunachal Pradesh won the title of second runner-up. A cash prize of 100,000 rupees (USD 1530.12) was awarded to the winner and 50,000 rupees (USD 765.05) to the first runner-up and 25,000 rupees (USD 382.54) to the second runner-up. Miss Himalaya Pageant was started in 2012 to provide a platform to young women from the entire Himalayan region.
