Maoists surrender on the rise in Odisha
Keonjhar, July 25 (ANI): Disillusioned by the Maoist ideologies, the number of rebels surrendering in Odisha is on rise and they avail benefits of the surrender schemes which encourages them to join the mainstream. The surrendered female Maoist cadres today revealed that they were forced to marry the male cadres and suffered sexual exploitation at the hands of Maoist leaders in the rebel camps. Another former Maoist, Suresh Sundhi said that the police has helped them in getting jobs, so that they can start a new life. Superintendent of Police, Keonjhar, Ashish Singh, said as some of the Maoist leaders surrendered, it motivated others to come to the mainstream and avail benefits of the surrender schemes.
