Maoists remanded in judicial custody by a court in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, May 06 (ANI): Five Maoists arrested in Coimbatore city of Tamil Nadu were remanded in judicial custody till June 03 by a city court. The Maoists were presented before the court after almost 20 hours of interrogation by police officials from Tamil Nadu as well as neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. On an intelligence tip-off, Coimbatore police nabbed five Maoists, including Maoist couple Roopesh and Shyna and their three aides at a bakery in Karumathampatti, some 25 kilometres away from Coimbatore. Balamurugan claimed that the accused had complained of mental harassment by the police as they were not allowed to sleep. The accused were sent to Coimbatore Central Prison.
