Kalyan Singh sworn in as Governor of Himachal Pradesh
Shimla, Jan 29 (ANI): The governor of Rajasthan, Kalyan Singh took additional charge as the governor of Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Mansoor Ahmed Mir gave oath of office as the 26th governor of Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to media in Shimla's Raj Bhawan, he said that he is pleased to follow the orders of the President Pranab Mukherjee. He also said that he has an emotional bonding with the state of Himachal Pradesh and would discharge the duty as governor of the state. The President has earlier this month asked Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh to discharge the functions of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties, till further orders. Kalyan Singh takes on his new responsibilities in the wake of Urmila Singh completing her tenure on January 24, 2015.
