Journalists & civil society members stage protest against MM Kalburgi’s murder
Bengaluru, Aug 31 (ANI): Journalists and members of civil society spilled on the streets of Bengaluru city of Karnataka in protest of the murder of noted scholar and former Vice Chancellor of Kannada University, MM Kalburgi. Kalburgi (77), was shot dead by two unidentified men at his residence in Dharwad district of Karnataka. The assailants, who barged into his house, shot him after a heated argument, local media said. Meanwhile, state minister for food and civil supplies, Dinesh Gundu Rao recounted how Narendra Dhabolkar, an Indian rationalist, was shot down in a similar case allegedly for crusading against blind faith.
