Govt accepted one point of implementing OROP scheme & rejected 6 points, we are not fully satisfied:

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): After Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar announced that the government has decided to implement One Rank One Pension scheme, Major General (Retd) Satbir Singh thanked the government for implementing OROP scheme. However, he added that the government has accepted only one point of implementing OROP and rejected six other points and that's why the veterans are not fully satisfied with Parrikar's announcement. Parrikar announced the OROP scheme has been approved by the government and that it will be implemented from July 01, 2014 onwards. Parrikar further said that the personnel taking voluntary retirement will not be included. The Defence Minister also said that a one member judicial committee will be constituted to submit its report in six months. He said that the pension would be revised every five years. However, ex-servicemen rejected government's one member committee and said that they want 5 members of which 3 would be veterans, 1 would be serving servicemen and 1 of Defence Minister's choice. One Rank One Pension scheme has been a long-standing demand of the ex-servicemen. It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel who retire at the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
