Gang behind online matrimonial fraud arrested in New Delhi
New Delhi, July 06 (ANI): Police in national capital region nabbed fraudsters who duped women through fake profiles on popular matrimonial sites. In two separate cases of similar nature, a gang from Gurgaon city and another fraudster from national capital New Delhi were arrested. In the first case, a gang of two Nigerian nationals and a woman hailing from Nagaland state, had indulged in creating fake accounts on various matrimonial websites, posing mainly as affluent non-resident Indians to lure women. They used SIM cards from foreign countries to trick the women into believing that they were Indians residing in foreign countries. They would get in touch with the targets and convince them into believing that they were sending expensive gifts. The targets were then sent emails, claiming them from the customs department or financial intelligence department.
