As soon as the BJP led NDA government came in power, it faced flak for failing to handle the escalating issue of water and power shortage in the national capital. Sensing the protest and the anger amid the people, the government took stock of the situation and now the Union Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal is seen as a satisfied man. Speaking in Rajya Sabha, Goyal apprised the Upper House about the boost in electricity production by about 15 per cent in the month of June.
