Floods create havoc in India's drought-prone Rajasthan

Barmer/ Birbhum, July 31 (ANI): Floods have created havoc in the drought-prone Barmer in Rajasthan, killing at least four persons. The Narmada river has submerged several villages in the district, destroying standing crops and submerging several houses. NDRF Personnel were seen evacuating people in Bavla village on Friday. NDRF officials said the rescue operation has been hampered due to incessant rains. Meanwhile, in Birbhum district of West Bengal, the flood situation has worsened. The Dwarka river and its tributaries were flowing above the danger level in several places in the state. Heavy rainfall and thundershowers are lashing West Bengal under the impact of deep depression over Bay of Bengal.
