Flood situation worsens in Assam
Assam, Sept 22 (ANI): Flood situation in Assam has worsened as almost all the districts of the state are reeling under flood waters, bringing normal life to a standstill. Incessant rainfall in Jorhat, Tinsukia and several other areas has resulted in overflowing of River Brahmaputra, worsening the situation, forcing residents to shift their places, as water entered several residential colonies. Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams were deployed in Tinsukia and Dhemaji districts to save thousands of people stranded by floodwaters. Residents suffered heavy losses and had a tough time wading through floodwaters. Speaking to media person, a local, Neelima from Tinsukia, expressed her grief over the situation in the area.
