Farmers sit on hunger strike demanding crop insurance
Gulbarga (Karnataka), July 01 (ANI): The farmers in Karnataka's Gulbarga region sat on a hunger strike in front of the Gulbarga's Collector Office demanding insurance of their crops. Gulbarga, which has been drought hit for the last two years, saw farmers losing their crop and also paying debts to the bank. While the Centre has released the crop insurance but the state government and district administration have not been releasing the crop insurance to the farmers.
