Devotees throng temples to offer prayers on 'Ram Navami'
Ayodhya/ Varanasi/ Nagpur, March 28 (ANI): Devotees across India
thronged temples on Saturday to offer prayers to mark the festival
of ‘Ram Navami’ -- birthday of lord Ram -- and enthusiastically
took part in the festivities. The festival, which falls on the
ninth day of the moonlit fortnight in the months of March-April,
marks the conclusion of ‘Navratra’ -- nine-days of fasting.
Devotees start thronging the temples since early morning and make
offerings of sweets, flowers and fruits. In the temple city of
Ayodhya, devotees took a dip in the River Sarayu and offered
prayers. Ram Navami is also known as 'Chaitra Navaratri' because
it falls in the Hindu month of Chaitra (March-April) each year.
