Devotees flock to Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple on Raksha Bandhan

Ujjain, August 29 (ANI): Devotees in Ujjain city flocked to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple to offer prayers to Hindu god of destruction, Lord Shiva, on the occasion of sibling festival of Raksha bandhan on Saturday. In special prayers, Lord Shiva's idol was smeared with ashes after which women tied rakhi threads on it. People believe that on sibling festival it is sacred to tie the thread on Lord Shiva's idol first. The temple prepared 115,000 laddoos which were distributed among the devotees who visited the temple.
