Deploying army without giving notice is illegal seizure of power: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, Dec 02 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has stirred a row after she camped at her Secretariat office Thursday night protesting against the Centre's move of deploying army at two toll plazas without any notice. She alleged the Central Government of deploying army at the toll booths in Palsit and Dankuni on NH-2. According to reports, at least six vehicles of military police were spotted at the Vidyasagar Setu toll plaza, a bridge that connects Kolkata to Howrah. However, it was later reported to be a mere routine exercise. The issue has come up when Banerjee has been staging protests against the Central Government for demonetising old currencies of Rs. 500 and 1000.
