Denied toilet at home, girl in Jharkhand commits suicide
Dumka, July 04 (ANI): A 17 year old girl, Khushboo Kumari allegedly committed suicide in Dumka district of Jharkhand after her parents turned down her request to construct a toilet at their home. The girl, a Class 12 student, had made multiple requests, but they were turned down as her parents wanted to save money for her marriage. Her relatives claim that the class XII student used to feel ashamed to defecate in the open. At a time when the government is vigorously advocating for toilets in every household in rural areas, this incident came as an eye opener for the people in villages. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Vipul Shukla said that the matter is being investigated deeply.
