Core strength yoga sequence

Your core is a complex series of muscles, extending far beyond your abs, including everything besides your arms and legs. In common parlance, the core of the body is broadly considered to be the torso. Functional movements are highly dependent on this part of the body, and lack of core muscular development can result in a predisposition to injury. The major muscles of the core reside in the area of the belly and the mid and lower back (not the shoulders). The most superficial layer of muscles is the core abdominal muscles. These muscles facilitate in the bending of the hips and are responsible for most of the forward bending yoga poses. The second layer of core muscles is our oblique muscles that reside at the sides of our body. These muscles are situated at the sides of our body and are responsible for the lateral stretching, that is side bending of the body. It also assists in the twisting of the upper body. The deepest layer of muscles is the transversus abdominis muscles. These muscles help to compress the ribs and viscera, providing thoracic and pelvic stability. The muscles also help a pregnant woman to deliver her child. The core is the central and most important part of our body. Core strength a beautiful thing, having the control and support to engage in whatever you like to do without strain or injury. Having a strong core has loads of benefits and can greatly improve your spinal and overall physical health.
