Communal harmony @ Baba Sonimiyan Urs
Ahmednagar, July 16 (ANI): Located 58 kilometers from District in India s western state of Maharashtra, the small town of Shevgaon is known for the amity that prevails between Hindus and Muslims. And, the celebrations that mark the annual Urs of Baba Sonimiyan is a perfect example of this fact. Every year, devotees from different faiths pay their respects to the saint. Legend has it that Baba Sonimiyan was a mystic who preached communal harmony and devoted his life for the betterment of mankind. Every year, the saints death anniversary is celebrated with great pomp and show. Devotees performed rituals with utmost devotion and also offered the holy cloth or chadar to the saint, who is believed to fulfill wishes.
