Centre denies special status to Bihar, Politicos slam
New Delhi, Aug 01 (ANI): The Central government's denial of a special status to Bihar has drawn flak from the political circle. Congress leader PC Chacko said that the people of Bihar have been cheated in the name of various promises by PM Narendra Modi before elections. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that the denial will be seen as a dual personality shown by the BJP-led Central government because they promised something else but eventually the result was something else. On Friday, the Centre had ruled out any special category status for Bihar saying there was no policy for according such a status to any state anymore. According to the government, the 14th Finance Commission had not made any distinction between special and general category states in the recommendation of horizontal distribution among the states.
