CBI charges pro-Khalistan terrorist Parminder Saini for forgery

Punjab, July 28 : Hijacker of a Srinagar-New Delhi flight in 1984, Parminde Singh Saini aka Harfan Maula, has been charged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with cheating and forgery in acquiring an Afghan passport under an assumed identity. The agency has charged Saini for acquiring a fake passport in the name of Balbir Singh to migrate to Canada. He allegedly acquired it while in Pakistan in 1995. Defence experts say this proves Pakistan has long been pushing its anti-India propaganda by supporting pro-Khalistan separatists. Pakistan had convicted Saini in the hijacking case, after Saini took the flight to Lahore. The government released Saini in 1995 with instructions to leave the country to the country of his choice within one month. Many pro-Khalistan separatists are based in Canada, the United States and other European countries. They enjoy Pakistan’s patronage and are reportedly planning to create instability in Punjab.
