Bar raid in Mumbai, 12 girls detained
Mumbai, July 31(ANI): In a bid to combat illegal prostitution in Maharashtra, the Mumbai police raided a bar where liquor was being served illegally and detained at least 12 girls, alleged to be a part of immoral trafficking, along with the bar employees.The raid was part of an ongoing drive against prostitution and sex trafficking in the city. The Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) is meant to combat trafficking of females as well as prostitution in the city. According to media reports, more than a hundred girls have been rescued in the last five months from bars, saloons and massage centres, which were functioning as prostitution dens.
