At least 35 killed after bus catches fire after road accident in Madhya Pradesh

Panna, May 05 (ANI): At least thirty-five people were killed and more than a dozen seriously injured when the bus they were travelling in went off the road and caught fire in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. There were about 45 to 50 passengers on board. The bus went into a roadside ditch after the driver lost control and it caught fire. The passengers were stuck inside the bus and 35 of them were burnt to death. Other passengers, who sustained burns, were rushed to a local hospital. The death toll could rise as many passengers have sustained serious injuries. Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi expressed her condolence over the bus mishap. The official twitter account of the Congress party shared the message. "Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has expressed shock and sadness at the bus accident in Panna, Madhya Pradesh," it posted. "Smt.Gandhi extended her condolences to families of the deceased in the horrific tragedyand expressed hope that injured were adequately treated," it added.
