Assanges mother meets Ecuadors Correa to plead sons asylum
Quito/ Suffolk, Aug 02 (ANI): Mother of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange met Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa to urge the leftist leader to grant her son asylum in the South American country. The Australian has been holed up in Ecuadors embassy in London for nearly six weeks as he awaits a decision on his asylum request by Correa. With Swedish authorities pushing to extradite Assange for questioning on allegations of rape and sexual assault, Ecuadors Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino told media that the prosecutors from the Scandinavian country could interview Julian Assange in their London headquarters.
