Assam viloence: P Chidambaram to visit tomorrow
Kokrajhar, July 29(ANI): Home Minister P Chidambaram will visit violence hit areas of Assam for two days beginning tomorrow. He will take stock of the situation and review the relief and rehabilitation measures. Meanwhile Curfew relaxation brought relief to commoners today in Kokrajhar after ethnic violence in the state forced tens of thousands to flee their razed homes and shut down road and rail transport. People came out on the roads to stock their daily needs as the restrictions by army officials were also eased. Elated over the curfew relaxation, a local Lal Bahadur said locals have had a sigh of relief with the withdrawal of curfew. The situation remained peaceful with no security restrictions imposed throughout the city.
