Assam flood situation worsens

Morigaon, June 30 (ANI): The flood situation in Morigaon district of Assam has deteriorated, as torrential downpour drowned 20 villages and left locals stranded on roadside without food and water. Locals were seen leaving to safer places on boats as water entered their houses and fields destroying the paddy crops stalked in their houses. Villagers have been forced to take shelter by the roadside as all their household items were washed away in the flood. Reportedly, the water levels of Brahmaputra River and its tributaries have crossed the danger mark at various places in the state.
