AgustaWestland case: Former IAF chief Tyagi blames it on PMO too
New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Pleading innocence in the Rs 3600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP choppers deal irregularities, former IAF chief SP Tyagi's counsel told the court that the procurement of chopper deal was a collective decision, including the Prime Minister’s Office. In December 2003, the PMO observed that tenders for the choppers that were meant for VVIPs had led to a single vendor situation and suggested changes of service ceiling i.e. 6000 metres, he said. Tyagi, who was arrested with two others for receiving kickbacks in the choppers deal, was produced before the Patiala court and was sent to four days' CBI custody till December 14.
