Activists trapped between Maoists & govt, says HRW

Ranchi, July30 (ANI): Human Rights Watch today released a report in Ranchi saying that civil society activists working in Maoist infested areas were at the receiving end of threats from the rebels, as well as allegations of being Maoist sympathizers from administrative authorities.The organisation s South Asia director, Meenakshi Ganguly, while speaking of the report titled Between Two Sets of Guns: Attacks on Civil Society Activists in India s Maoist Conflict , said that the problem was faced by human rights activists, lawyers and journalists working in Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
