8 hardcore Maoists arrested in Gaya
Gaya, July 23 (ANI): Acting on a tipoff, police have arrested eight hardcore Maoists in Gaya district of Bihar, recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the rebels in the process.Eight extremists of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) also included one self styled area commander of the outfit. Talking to mediapersons, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaya, Vinay Kumar said that a police team assisted by the CRPF personnel carried out the raids and arrested the extremists. In the last few years, the rebels have stepped up their efforts against the government as well as the locals, after various locals complained that Maoist activities such as killings and abductions increased considerably in the area.
