1965 Indo-Pak war golden jubilee: Pranab Mukherjee pays tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday paid tribute at the Amar Jawan Jyoti. He was accompanied by the three Defence chiefs- Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Air Chief Marshall Arup Raha and Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan. Mukherjee laid a floral wreath at the immortal flame to pay his tributes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to twitter to pay tribute to the 1965 war heroes. The PM said- "As we mark the 50th anniversary of 1965 war, I bow to all brave soldiers who fought for our Motherland in the war. The courage and bravery of our Armed Forces is very inspiring", Prime Minister Modi said in a series of tweets. "They triumphed over every obstacle and protected India's unity and integrity. We recall the dynamic leadership of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. In 1965 he led from the front and was a key source of strength for the nation," he added. Meanwhile, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi also took to twitter to salute the courage of war heroes. "As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo-Pak war, I salute the sacrifice and courage of our soldiers in the service of the nation," Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet.
