16 lose vision after free surgery
Coimbatore, June 25 (ANI): 16 people, including 12 women, have lost their sight after undergoing a free eye surgery in Coimbatore.The victims, aged between 55 to 70 years, underwent surgery at a government hospital at Salem district's Mettur town. In all, 23 patients underwent free eye surgeries at the hospital between June 14 and 16.The state health department has ordered an inquiry into the incident and samples of medicines given to the patients have been sent to a laboratory.
