'Roohdari- Mystic Notes and Dancing Toes' celebrates poetry of Sufi and Bhakti composers

New Delhi, July 06 (ANI): Versatile singer Reshmi Agarwal's emotive and soulful singing of mystic Sufi and Bhakti poetry enthralled the audience in a jam-packed auditorium at the Indian Habitat Centre. The event, 'Roohdari- Mystic Notes and Dancing Toes',was organised by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), an autonomous organisation with the Home Ministry, in association UPAAS Foundation. Agarwal, a Grand-Prix awardee, sang the mesmerizing poems of Amir Khusro, Meerabai, Bulleh Shah, Kabir and Rumi.She also engaged in a 'jugalbandi' with kathak exponent Vidha Lal to various immortal verses of sufi saints.... ...and presented various performances based on dadra, thumri, sufi and bhakti. NFCH, working for rehabilitation of child victims of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence, also seeks to promote communal harmony and national integration in the country. And the event 'Roohdari- Mystic Notes and Dancing Toes' was an effort in this direction.
