Lord Swaraj Paul is one of the scrupulous industrial personalities in India who founded the multinational company Caparo in London. In fulfilling the desire he had been kept from his childhood days. Swaraj Paul was born in 1931 in the Indian city Jalandhar, Punjab in a merchant family. Paul was educated in the most prestigious MIT in USA in Mechanical engineering and after his return he inherited the business empire of his family. Paul in 1953 joined in the family business but shifted to London in order to start a fresh business. Swaraj Paul founded the Caparo group in 1978. To his fortune and fate he was made the knight in the same year by the queen of United Kingdom and was elected to the House of Lords as a member. Numerous honors and prestige have been bestowed on him for his large business and his standing as one of the significant businesspersons in the international market. He received Padma Vibhusan in 1983 by Indira Gandhi. He is the pro-chancellor of Thames Valley University and its governing body. His business is based in London and is centered in the United Kingdom.
