National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research also called NIPER is an institution devoted to the higher education and research in the pharmaceutical sciences in India. As need for such a center was long been felt as India had a number of ace institution in the field of science and technology, medicine and engineering and other streams but there was no such institute in the field of pharmacy.

There are seven institutions in the name of NIPER in the different parts of India, these NIPERs are situated in the cities like Ahmedabad, Hajipur, Mohali, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rae Bareli and Guwahati. These NIPERs offers a plethora of masters as well as doctoral programs courses that in the field of pharmacy. In addition to these NIPERs have collaboration with industries and national and international institutions to offer best of education to the students. Most of the NIPER?s have hostel facilities for students residing in their campus.

The students who are seeking admission in NIPER have to appear for a test conducted in the months of June every year.

NIPER is an institution under the Union ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. A large number of students of NIPER have been successfully placed in the industries as well as academics.
