The objective behind the establishment of this institute was to strengthen the academic activities that could groom the leadership in officers of Indian and state government. As it performs an important task, the institute always remains in the eye of media. The establishment of IIPA can be terme a result of survey of public administration by Paul H. Appleby who was a professor with Ford foundation. The institute is doing its task well and it is evident in the forms of a large number of books monographs and journals.
